How to find out DirectX version you are currently using – DirectX 11 Download

Before we go deeper into how to download the older versions of DirectX for your current Windows and how to know if yours is supported, we need to know if you already have the correct and latest DirectX installed.
To check your current DirectX version, click on the start button, type “dxdiag” and hit Enter. The DirectX Diagnostic Tool will then be opened. All the information about your currently installed DirectX will be shown in this window. The DirectX version is shown near the bottom of the window in the first System tab.

If you already have the latest DirectX version installed, your game or program should run just fine unless if it requires an older version of DirectX which can be acquired from End-User Runtime (which we will explain later on).
